Job summary

AmTrust Financial Services in Dallas, TX seeks a Senior Underwriter to administer underwriting agencies in the assigned territory, drive new business opportunities, and ensure compliance with underwriting standards. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of commercial lines P&C experience, a bachelor’s degree, and strong analytical skills.

Willingness to travel within the territory is required; CPCU/AU/CIC are preferred.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial lines property and casualty experience.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent work experience.
• Ability to travel including overnight stays within the assigned territory.
• Preferred CPCU, AU, CIC or other industry designations.

Responsibilities

• Write a profitable book of business through solid risk analysis, pricing and servicing.
• Collaborate closely with Underwriting, Sales, and support teams.
• Partner with Territory Management to develop and implement the territory business plan and share accountability with team in meeting goals.
• Take initiative with the team to develop, manage, and maintain outside client relationships within the territory.
• Actively participate in industry events as required, such as agency or association conventions.
• Exhibit professional, timely, and courteous communication and service to external clients and internal staff.
• Provide the pertinent information and guidance to support staff required to process coverage requests.
• Assist in gathering and communicating competitive information.
• Maintain current knowledge of market trends and demands.
• Perform other functionally related duties as assigned.
