Job summary

Berkley Edge is seeking a Senior Underwriter – Small Business to manage and grow a profitable book of small business in a wholesale environment. You will evaluate risk, price effectively, and work closely with brokers to expand the company’s small business footprint.

The role requires at least five years in small business underwriting with strong E&S knowledge and primary liability experience, located in the Saint Petersburg, FL area.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years’ small business underwriting experience.
• Strong experience in Excess & Surplus (E&S) Lines and Wholesale Brokerage Distribution.
• Experience writing primary commercial general liability is required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and grow a profitable book of small business through underwriting excellence in assigned territory or product line.
• Oversee policy applications, renewals, repricing, restrictions, and cancellations to determine risk acceptability and coverage.
• Serve as a technical expert with responsibility for underwriting function or team.
• Focus on assigned brokers to foster growth and handle service issues.
• Develop pricing proposals and analyze risk, exposure, and trends with claims input.
