Job summary

American International Group (AIG) seeks a Senior Underwriter for Fronting/Group Captives in Chicago. You will onboard new opportunities, manage multiple Group Captive accounts, and maintain underwriting files with self-audits while communicating risk appetite to brokers.

You will collaborate with Associate Underwriters to ensure bookings, support client calls, and strengthen broker relationships. A 5-year track record in insurance underwriting is preferred and a strong sales/communication skill

Qualifications

  • 5 years of relevant professional experience in underwriting or insurance.
  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university preferred.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships.
  • Demonstrated sales, marketing and relationship-building experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.

Responsibilities

  • Onboard new business opportunities.
  • Handle up to 2 medium-sized Group Captive accounts.
  • Maintain clear underwriting files and perform self-audits for other underwriters.
  • Communicate risk appetite/Captive Solutions Value Proposition to brokers.
  • Work with Associate Underwriter(s) to ensure booking and coding on accounts are completed.
  • Resolve account-related questions from internal peers and/or Clients/ Brokers that are within their scope; or escalate to leadership.
  • Participate in client (internal/external) conference calls.
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with the Producers and Captive Intermediaries.

For positions based in Chicago, the base salary range is $100,000-$130,000. In addition, the position is eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan.
