Job summary

Starr Insurance Companies is seeking an experienced Underwriter in Management Liability for the South-Central Region. You will oversee underwriting, rating, and servicing of submissions, building a balanced portfolio for Private and Not-for-Profit Financial Lines and collaborating with brokers.

The role requires a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent with 3-5 years of underwriting experience, detail orientation, and strong communication skills to ensure high-quality files and cross-sale opportunities

Responsibilities

• Underwriting responsibility for the South-Central Region.
• Build a well-balanced and profitable portfolio of Private and Not-for-Profit Financial Lines products.
• Oversee the Underwriting, rating, and servicing of new and renewal submissions.
• Ensure that underwriting files are of consistent quality and cover all relevant issues.
• Facilitate marketing / client plan for the region.
• Meet regularly with assigned Financial Lines brokers.
• Identify and establish new relationships with FL brokers.
• Success to be measured by submission/quote/bind metrics compared to prior periods of the team.
• Develop a working knowledge of other Starr products to facilitate cross sale of those products where applicable.
