Base pay range

$75,000.00/yr - $194,000.00/yr

Description

Responsible for managing a profitable book of insurance business by marketing, underwriting, evaluating risks within delegated authority, and partnering with agents and brokers. Demonstrates decision-making authority, recommends quality exceptions, supports marketing activities, and handles confidential information.

1. Risk Selection: Reviews, rates, underwrites, and evaluates insurance applications, determines premiums and policy terms, and negotiates deals.
2. Agent/Broker Relationships: Builds and maintains successful relationships with key agents and brokers to facilitate product marketing and develop a strong pipeline.
3. Portfolio Management: Manages a complex book of business, analyzes portfolio data, identifies growth opportunities, and executes marketing plans.
4. Documenting the Deal: Maintains comprehensive and compliant documentation for all account reviews and decisions.
5. Leadership: Guides and mentors underwriters and analysts, sharing expertise and updates.
6. Continuous Improvement: Participates in problem-solving and process improvement activities.

Qualifications

• Intermediate knowledge of insurance products, underwriting, risk assessment, and market segments; advanced territory management skills.
• Ability to apply underwriting tools and resources; typically requires a bachelor's degree and 8-10 years of relevant experience; CPCU or similar designation preferred.
