Sargent & Lundy is looking for an experienced engineering professional to design underground transmission lines in Phoenix, Arizona. This role involves utilizing advanced engineering skills to develop designs, conduct analyses, and oversee project teams. This position will offer you the ability to apply and expand your knowledge of underground transmission line engineering, including routing, duct bank configurations, manhole placement, and electrical principles.
We offer a hybrid work arrangement. You’ll work three days a week in the office and can work remotely for two days. Depending on your location, a generous relocation package may be offered.

In this role, you’re expected to lead others using modern tools. You’ll guide engineering problem‑solving through data, automation, and AI to improve workflows, reduce rework, and deliver cost‑effective designs. This includes oversight of engineers who program or script (e.g., Python, MATLAB, advanced Excel) to automate tasks, review outputs, and ensure validity. Additional learning such as a minor, certificate, or other experience in computer science, AI, or software engineering is valued.

$100,019 - $152,807.
Compensation ranges are disclosed in compliance with regulations. Total package includes base salary or hourly rate and benefits. Eligible individuals may also participate in discretionary bonuses.
