Job summary

Teledyne FLIR Defense is seeking a Senior UAS Systems Integration Engineer to advance the development, integration, testing, and optimization of next‑generation sUAS for defense applications.

The role spans software, electrical, mechanical, and aerospace domains, requiring hands‑on experience with integrating hardware and software subsystems, prototype flight testing, and addressing complex technical challenges.

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering, CS, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in UAS, aerospace, robotics, or autonomous systems.
• 3+ years hands-on experience with drones or autonomous platforms.
• Proficient with Linux, Python, MATLAB; strong debugging skills.

Responsibilities

• Integrate avionics, sensors, communications, payloads, propulsion, and autonomy software.
• Collaborate with software, electrical, mechanical, and systems engineers on cross‑functional issues.
• Support architecture, requirements, interfaces, and technical documentation.
• Bring up prototype aircraft and conduct first power-on tests and software installs.
• Configure flight controllers and autopilots (e.g., PX4, ArduPilot).
• Analyze flight logs and system data using Python or MATLAB.
• Plan and support lab, ground, and flight testing activities.
• Debug hardware using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power supplies, etc.
• Troubleshoot RF links, telemetry, and C2/video systems.
• Investigate root causes and drive system-level improvements.
• Support battery systems, power architectures, and production transition.
