Job summary

Heven AeroTech is seeking a Senior UAS Operator to lead a team of operators in flight operations, post-production flights, demonstrations, and end-user training for hydrogen-powered UAS. Travel to test ranges and customer sites is required, with mileage reimbursed when company vehicles are not available.

The role demands extensive UAS experience, strong leadership and safety discipline, and the ability to document logs, test results, and configurations.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years military or commercial UAS operations experience.
• Minimum 4 years experience in a leadership role within military or commercial UAS/aviation.
• Experience drafting and/or maintaining logbooks, maintenance records, configuration records, and discrepancy documentation in a controlled environment.
• Ability to execute approved test cards, checklists, and flight plans within defined parameters.
• Strong discipline in pre-flight, post-flight, configuration control, and anomaly documentation processes.
• Ability to present technical data to diverse audiences.
• Proven ability to maintain and optimize complex systems, including preventive maintenance.
• Active DOD Secret Clearance (or ability to obtain).
• Active Class 2 FAA Medical Certification (or ability to obtain).
• Professional working proficiency in English (spoken and written).
• Not eligible for visa sponsorship; must be able to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• If ITAR/EAR information applies, qualify as a U.S. person.

Responsibilities

• Lead operation of Air Vehicles, Ground Control Systems, Ground Support Equipment, payloads, radios, and related equipment during post-production, demonstration, and training flights.
• Lead execution of approved flight plans, ground test procedures, checklists, and flight profiles for Group 2+ UAS.
• Assist in recruitment, onboarding, and training of new operators.
• Support engineering reporting by providing operator notes, flight logs, configuration records, and observations.
• Assist with installation, checkout, and troubleshooting of payloads, radios, harnesses, and related integrations under engineering direction.
• Contribute to developing sustainment-ready military UAS by providing product feedback to engineering.
