Job summary

Firestorm Labs is seeking an experienced Senior Integrations Engineer to lead integration of advanced payloads into next-gen Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS). You’ll work with DoD customers on-site to specify, install, test, and troubleshoot custom payloads.

A hands-on problem solver with avionics, embedded systems, RF, and real-time software integration is ideal. You will collaborate across disciplines to deliver mission-ready systems under pressure, guiding software, autonomy and hardware teams

Qualifications

• BS degree in aerospace, electrical, systems or mechanical engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years in systems integration, troubleshooting and field ops.
• U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain DoD security clearance.
• Strong networking: Ethernet, TCP/IP, VPNs, VLANs, wireless.
• Proficient with Linux and Windows, strong CLI skills.
• Python, Bash, Shell, C/C++ for embedded software.
• Experience with UAV systems and avionics.

Responsibilities

• Integrate avionics, mission payloads, flight controllers, and subsystems.
• Configure and troubleshoot tactical networks and RF links.
• Diagnose electromechanical and embedded software issues in lab or field.
• Translate mission requirements into technical specs.
• Develop embedded and application software; write automation scripts.
• Create test plans; validate performance and provide recommendations.
• Collaborate on documentation: integration guides, test reports.
• Work with manufacturing teams to accelerate development.
• Support MECCS deployment and payload integration.
• Lead hardware/software integration in high-pressure environments.
