Job summary

Precise Systems, Inc. seeks a Senior UAS Electronics Technician (30086) to support its SOCOM customer within NSWC Crane Expeditionary Electromagnetic Warfare Division. The technician will maintain, build, configure, test, troubleshoot, repair, and manage small UAS and related equipment.

This in-person role requires hands-on diagnostics of UAV subsystems, parts planning, and schedule coordination to support test events. Travel is required to support surges.

Qualifications

• Ten or more years of relevant electronics, aviation, unmanned systems, or military-technical experience.
• Hands-on experience building, configuring, troubleshooting, and repairing small UAS platforms and associated electronics.
• Experience using electronic test equipment, hand tools, schematics, wiring diagrams, manuals and maintenance procedures.

Precise Systems is seeking a Senior UAS Electronics Technician (30086) to provide dedicated support to our SOCOM customer within the NSWC Crane Expeditionary Electromagnetic Warfare Division (MXQW). The technician will maintain, build, configure, test, troubleshoot, repair, and manage small unmanned aircraft systems (sUAS) and associated support equipment. This position requires hands‑on technical support, inventory accountability, assembly and kitting, parts planning, and schedule management. Travel is required to support test‑event surges.

This role requires in-person support.

Duties

• Maintain accountability and inventory of MXQW UAS assets, components, tools, batteries, support equipment, and supplies.
• Build, assemble, configure, function check, troubleshoot, repair, and return small unmanned aircraft systems to operational status.
• Perform hands‑on diagnostics of UAS electrical, electronic, RF, power, control, communication, and mechanical subsystems.
• Conduct assembly, kitting, labeling, staging, and preparation of UAS systems and support equipment for testing, fielding, and operational events.
• Develop and maintain buy lists for replacement parts, consumables, tools, test equipment, and other materials needed to sustain UAS assets.
• Track parts usage, shortages, repair status, asset condition, and material requirements to maintain readiness and reduce schedule impacts.
• Develop and manage task‑completion timelines and coordinate priorities to support customer schedules, test events, and surge requirements.
• Perform pre‑ and post‑operation inspections, functional checks, configuration verification, and documentation of maintenance or repair actions.
• Coordinate with engineers, UAS operators, test personnel, logisticians, and Government stakeholders to resolve technical issues and support mission requirements.
• Travel as required to support UAS test events, field activities, demonstrations, troubleshooting, and short‑duration surge requirements.

Required Education

• High School Diploma, GED, vocational/technical school certificate, or equivalent military technical training in electronics, aviation, unmanned systems, or a related field.

Required Experience

• Ten (10) or more years of relevant electronics, aviation, unmanned systems, engineering‑technician, or military technical experience.
• Demonstrated hands‑on experience building, configuring, function checking, troubleshooting, and repairing small UAS platforms and associated electronics.
• Experience using electronic test equipment, hand tools, diagnostic tools, schematics, wiring diagrams, technical manuals, and maintenance procedures.
• Experience managing equipment inventories, parts accountability, material requirements, assembly/kitting activities, and technical work schedules.
• Ability to safely operate a forklift in support of UAS equipment movement, inventory, staging, and kitting activities.
• Ability to independently diagnose technical problems, determine corrective actions, and document maintenance or repair activity.
• Current Group 1 and Group 2 UAV license/certification and ability to maintain required flight qualifications.
• Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to support multiple priorities in a hands‑on operational environment.

Desired Experience

• Experience supporting SOCOM, NSWC Crane, Navy, Marine Corps, or other Department of Defense UAS programs.
• Experience with Group 1 and Group 2 UAS flight operations, maintenance, payload integration, or test support.
• Experience with RF communications, data links, antennas, batteries, power systems, avionics, ground‑control equipment, or UAS payload electronics.
• Experience supporting developmental testing, field testing, demonstrations, or operationally relevant UAS events.
• Experience generating parts lists, purchase requirements, bills of material, or sustainment recommendations.
• IPC soldering certification or demonstrated electronics repair and rework experience.
• Experience maintaining configuration, maintenance, inventory, or readiness records in a Government or contractor environment.

This position is covered by the Service Contract Labor Standard under a Wage Determination. As such Under the SCA selected candidates are entitled to both the hourly rate aforementioned and a health and welfare benefit. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance and be eligible for higher‑level access when required by assigned tasking. Due to the sensitivity of customer‑related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.
