Motion Recruitment is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for a rapidly growing sleep technology company in Chicago. The role focuses on backend systems, cloud infrastructure, and data pipelines powering consumer-facing experiences across hardware, software, and ML components.

You will own significant parts of the platform, work with distributed systems and microservices, and influence architecture as the company scales globally. Strong backend expertise and cloud proficiency are essential.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• 5+ years focused on backend engineering, platform engineering, or site reliability engineering.
• Experience building and supporting distributed systems.
• Strong knowledge of cloud infrastructure and services.
• Advanced proficiency in at least two of Ruby, Node.JS, TypeScript, etc.
• Experience with microservices architectures.
• Strong troubleshooting and performance optimization skills.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain backend services powering connected hardware and cloud platforms.
