Job summary

Transportation Security Administration, part of the Department of Homeland Security, is seeking Supervisory Transportation Security Officers in Columbia. Qualifications

• At least one year of specialized experience supervising transportation-security operations.
• At least six months of experience as a work leader, team leader, or supervisor.
• U.S. citizen or U.S. national.
• Ability to obtain and maintain required security clearance; pass background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Transportation Security Officers and Lead Transportation Security Officers.
• Oversee passenger, carry-on baggage, checked baggage, or cargo-screening operations.
• Assign work, establish priorities, and coordinate rotations and coverage.
• Make security-based decisions using TSA procedures and organizational judgment.
• Review performance and provide coaching and feedback to staff.
• Prepare operational briefings, logs, and management communications.
• Coordinate with airport stakeholders and TSA leadership as needed.
• Recommend improvements to screening procedures and staffing plans.
