Job summary

GDIT is seeking an experienced Software Engineer SME to design, develop, integrate, and maintain enterprise-grade applications and data systems across complex mission environments. This role focuses on scalable back-end services, microservices, databases, APIs, and CI/CD pipelines.

You will contribute to full-stack development, data management, and technical leadership within Agile teams, and you’ll operate on-site at Tyson's, VA for a demanding defense/agency environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.
• 10+ years of related experience.
• Security clearance: TS/SCI with Polygraph.
• Location: Tyson's, VA (On Customer Site).
• US Citizenship Required

Responsibilities

• Full-stack application development across back-end and front-end using Python, Node.js, Vue.js, and Rails.
• Design and optimize relational (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB) databases and data models.
• Develop data ingestion pipelines and AWS S3 workflows with secure data handling.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, automated tests, security checks, and performance validation.
• Utilize Docker, Kubernetes for packaging, deployment, scaling, and orchestration.
• Apply infrastructure‑as‑code with Terraform/CloudFormation/Ansible for reliable deployments.
• Ensure seamless integration between front-end interfaces and back-end services; help optimize performance.
• Participate in Agile sprint planning, backlog refinement, and deliver incremental mission value.
