Job summary

Nightwing seeks a Cyber Network Defense Analyst to support a U.S. Government customer. The role centers on monitoring network activity, analyzing threats, and delivering timely detection and incident support to critical assets.

Candidates must have TS/SCI clearance, U.S. citizenship, and a BS in a related field or equivalent experience. Skills in Snort, SiLK, packet analysis, and signature development are essential.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship required.
• Active TS/SCI clearance required.
• Ability to obtain DHS EOD suitability.
• 5+ years of direct cyber defense analysis experience.
• Experience developing and deploying signatures.
• Experience detecting intrusions via IDS.
• Experience with incident handling methodologies.
• Experience reading and interpreting signatures.
• Experience performing packet-level analysis.

Responsibilities

• Characterize and analyze network traffic to identify anomalies and threats.
• Coordinate with cyber defense staff to validate alerts.
• Document incidents with history, status and impact.
• Perform cyber defense trend analysis and reporting.
• Perform event correlation to gain situational awareness.
• Provide daily summaries of network events for defense.
• Analyze alerts to determine causes.
• Provide detection and alerting of possible attacks.
• Use defense tools for monitoring and analysis.
• Analyze malicious activity to determine exploitation methods.
• Identify anomalies in network traffic using metadata.
• Validate IDS alerts via packet analysis.
• Identify devices OS and applications from traffic.
• Reconstruct attacks from traffic data.
• Assist in constructing network signatures for threats.
