Job summary

Brown Brothers Harriman is seeking an accomplished trusts and estates attorney to serve as Counsel for our National Trust Companies and Cayman Trust Company within our Capital Partners line. You will be the day-to-day coverage attorney advising senior management, shaping policy, negotiating agreements, and guiding the administration of our most complex fiduciary matters.

Qualifications

• JD and active bar admission in good standing.
• 10+ years of relevant experience in trust and estate law.
• Deep command of trust and estate law and practical document provisions.
• Fluency with governing rules and best practices in administration.

Responsibilities

• Advise trust companies on fiduciary administration and policy.
• Review and negotiate trust instruments, wills, and related documents.
• Collaborate with Trust Officers, Wealth Planners, and external counsel on complex matters.
• Track regulatory developments and translate them into guidance and memos.
• Advise Trust Company Boards and committees, including during audits.
• Present at Legal Developments meetings and training sessions.
