Job summary

MidFirst Bank in Denver, CO seeks a Trust Tax Manager to lead the Trust Tax Group in ensuring accurate and timely preparation and filing of tax documents for Wealth Management, including forms such as 1098, 1099 series and 5227, 5498, 1041, 1042 and more.

The role requires CPA or JD preferred, 5+ years in trust/estate tax, strong communication, mentoring staff, and a comprehensive benefits package with medical, dental, vision, and 401(k).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in economics, finance, or business administration (required).
• Post-graduate study in accounting or law preferred.
• CPA or JD preferred.
• CTFA or other trust certification desirable.
• CFP desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead liaison to third-party tax vendor for reporting.
• Review tax documents for completeness before filings and mailing.
• Maintain knowledge of tax laws related to trusts and estates.
• Research account tax issues for moderately complex accounts.
• Review legal documents for tax compliance.
• Advise management on transaction processing and reporting improvements.
• Educate Wealth Management staff on tax, trusts, estate, and accounts.
