Job summary

Wilmington Trust seeks a Senior Trust Officer to oversee complex fiduciary relationships and administer Delaware directed trusts, discretionary trusts, and other fiduciary arrangements. You will partner with wealth management, tax, and fiduciary teams to deliver tailored solutions for long-term goals.

You will engage with high-net-worth clients, beneficiaries, and advisors, applying fiduciary judgment while ensuring compliance with documents and regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required with at least 5 years in fiduciary, trust administration, estate administration, or wealth management.
• Strong understanding of fiduciary principles, trust administration, distributions, and trust taxation.

Responsibilities

• Administer a portfolio of complex trust relationships, including Delaware directed trusts and discretionary trusts.
• Serve as the primary relationship manager for high-net-worth clients, beneficiaries, family offices, attorneys, accountants, and other trusted advisors.
• Exercise fiduciary judgment while ensuring activity complies with governing documents, regulations, and policies.
• Interpret and apply trust agreements, wills, settlement agreements, and fiduciary documents to support administration.
• Coordinate distributions, tax matters, account reviews, and other trust administration activities.
• Develop an understanding of Delaware directed trust structures and the roles of trustees, investment advisors, distribution advisors, and trust protectors.
• Partner with internal specialists to deliver a seamless client experience.
• Identify and address client needs while maintaining service standards and responsiveness.
• Monitor risk and ensure adherence to fiduciary, regulatory, and operational requirements.
• Support business development by strengthening client relationships and collaborating with colleagues.
