Job summary

Allstate seeks an experienced litigation attorney in New York to represent insured individuals and the Company in bodily injury and property damage lawsuits. You will prepare for hearings, trials, arbitrations and depositions, and work with the Law and Regulation team on regulatory issues.

The role requires a JD and an active NY Bar, with 5+ years of litigation experience and first/second chair trial experience.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate and active NY bar in good standing.
• 5+ years of litigation experience or strong equivalent skills.
• First or second chair jury trial experience required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and LexisNexis preferred.
• Strong legal research and internet research skills.
• Ability to manage complex disputes and heavy caseload.
• Comfortable working in a remote environment with reliable internet.
• Willingness to travel for court appearances in NYC area.
• Background check required; visa sponsorship generally not provided.

Responsibilities

• Represent insured individuals and the Company in bodily injury and property damage lawsuits.
• Prepare for and conduct hearings, trials, arbitrations, mediations, and depositions.
• Prepare and present pre- and post-trial motions.
• Assist colleagues in resolving calendar conflicts.
• Advise business clients on day-to-day legal matters.
• Manage projects and coordinate among legal teams.
• Monitor and evaluate new laws, regulations, and case law.
• Identify and summarize relevant legal issues.
• Collaborate with the Law and Regulation department.
• Advise business units on the impact of new laws and monitor legal representation.
