Job summary

Markent Personnel in Los Angeles is seeking a Senior Trial Attorney to lead plaintiff personal injury litigation from filing through trial. You will manage complex, high-value cases with substantial resources and collaborate with experienced litigators, experts, and support staff.

The role emphasizes ownership of case strategy, deposition direction, and trial readiness, with a path to significant courtroom leadership in a high-volume, results-driven environment.

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school.
• Active membership in the California Bar.
• Meaningful civil litigation experience, preferably representing plaintiffs in personal injury matters.
• Demonstrated courtroom and trial preparation experience.
• Experience conducting depositions and participating in mediations and settlement negotiations.
• Strong motion practice, legal research and writing skills.
• Ability to independently manage a sophisticated litigation caseload.
• Excellent case-management and organizational skills.
• Strong client communication and relationship-management abilities.
• Ability to operate effectively in a high-volume, results-oriented litigation environment.
• Spanish-language capability is helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

• Lead personal injury litigation from filing through settlement or trial.
• Develop case strategy, evaluate exposure and identify the strongest path toward resolution.
• Take and defend depositions, including those involving parties, experts and other key witnesses.
• Prepare for and appear at hearings, mediations, arbitrations and other proceedings.
• Draft and argue substantive motions and other significant court filings.
• Direct discovery strategy and oversee preparation of pleadings and litigation documents.
• Prepare cases for trial, including witnesses, experts, exhibits and evidentiary issues.
• Conduct settlement negotiations and evaluate resolution opportunities.
• Maintain direct communication with clients throughout the litigation process.
• Coordinate with medical professionals, experts and other resources necessary to develop damages and liability arguments.
• Provide direction to paralegals and litigation support personnel.
• Collaborate with other senior attorneys on particularly complex or high-exposure cases.
