Job summary

Transportation Security Administration in Alaska is seeking a Supervisory Transportation Security Officer (STSOs) to lead airport passenger and baggage screening. You will supervise Transportation Security Officers and Lead Transportation Security Officers, coordinate staffing, and ensure security procedures are carried out accurately.

Candidates must have at least one year of specialised experience supervising security operations and six months in a leadership role.

Qualifications

• At least one year of specialised experience supervising transportation-security operations.
• At least six months of experience as a work leader, team leader, or supervisor.
• Ability to distribute workloads, train employees, and monitor performance.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Transportation Security Officers and Lead Transportation Security Officers.
• Oversee passenger, carry-on/checked baggage, or cargo-screening operations.
• Assign work, establish priorities, and coordinate rotations and coverage.
• Make security-based decisions using TSA procedures and incident reports.
• Prepare operational briefings and management communications.
• Coordinate with airport stakeholders and TSA leadership as required.
• Recommend improvements to screening procedures and staffing plans.
