Job summary

The Transportation Security Administration, part of the Department of Homeland Security, is seeking Supervisory Transportation Security Officers in Russell. STSOs supervise TSA Officers, coordinate staffing, and oversee screening operations to maintain safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• At least one year of specialized experience supervising transportation-security operations.
• Experience as a Transportation Security Officer or Lead Transportation Security Officer may qualify.
• At least six months of experience as a work leader, team leader, or supervisor; ability to distribute workloads, train employees, maintain records, monitor performance.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Transportation Security Officers and Lead Transportation Security Officers.
• Oversee passenger, carry-on baggage, checked baggage, or cargo-screening operations
• Assign work, establish priorities, and coordinate rotations and coverage
• Make security-based decisions using TSA procedures, information, and judgment
• Review employee performance and provide coaching and feedback
• Approve leave and address routine workplace concerns
• Respond to security incidents and emergencies
• Prepare operational briefings, logs, and incident reports
• Coordinate with airport stakeholders and TSA leadership
• Recommend improvements to screening procedures and staffing plans
