Job summary

Wade Trim is seeking a Transportation Construction Inspector to join our Construction team in Michigan with offices in Taylor, Detroit, Ann Arbor or Flint. The role requires a high school diploma and 5+ years of MDOT inspection experience, including FieldManager/Book usage.

HMA and concrete experience and MDOT contract knowledge are essential; a valid driver’s license is required. You will lead field inspections, manage multiple inspectors, prepare daily reports, and maintain documentation

Qualifications

• High school diploma and 5+ years MDOT inspection experience.
• Experience with MDOT Local Agency Program and field management software (FieldManager/Book, AASHTOWare).
• Knowledge of HMA and concrete, MDOT-let contract requirements.

Responsibilities

• Conduct field inspections to verify contract requirements on roadways and bridges.
• Lead and manage multiple inspectors on projects.
• Prepare/ review daily reports in FieldManager/Book and AASHTOWare.
• Organize and maintain construction documentation in FieldManager, AASHTOWare, and Bluebeam.
• Act as on-site liaison with client and community.
• Communicate effectively with on-site contractors.
• Understand plans and specifications; assist project manager.
• Prepare forms and paperwork in a timely manner.
