Job summary

Atria Senior Living is seeking a Transportation Aide to provide safe, courteous transport and support for Engage Life and Maintenance Directors. You will drive community vehicles, assist residents in and out, secure wheelchairs, and coordinate routine vehicle maintenance.

Maintain daily trip logs and assist with deliveries to residents’ apartments. You must have a CDL and 5+ years of driving experience, with knowledge of preventative maintenance and safe driving.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or 1–3 months of related experience/training.
• 5+ years of driving experience and knowledge of vehicle preventative maintenance.
• Commercial driver’s license required to operate commercial size vehicles.
• Able to operate 7–16 passenger vehicle; limousines/cars; tire changing equipment; wheelchair lift; dollies/hand trucks.
• Experience with vehicle emergency repairs and basic First Aid.

Responsibilities

• Drive community vehicle to social and other destinations according to schedule.
• Assist residents into and out of vehicle safely.
• Secure wheelchairs to restraints during trips.
• Practice safe driving techniques at all times.
• Clean and service vehicle; report maintenance needs.
• Establish and monitor daily/weekly trip inspections and maintenance records.
• Deliver groceries and other items to residents’ apartments.
• Support Engage Life Department activities as needed.
• Submit travel charges daily to the business office.
• Maintain a clean driving record per company policy.
• Handle emergencies and provide basic First Aid.
