Job summary

Goins Sweitzer Engineers and Consultants, PLLC in Edenton, NC, seeks an experienced Project Manager to lead NCDOT transportation projects, coordinating planning, design, and preconstruction activities. The ideal candidate has a civil engineering background, strong NCDOT knowledge, and proven leadership in design projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering; PMP may be considered in lieu of degree with relevant experience.
• Thorough knowledge of engineering concepts for bridge/roadway project development and construction.
• Proven experience managing transportation design projects with NCDOT.
• Strong knowledge of NCDOT standards and specifications.
• Proficiency with project management software and tools.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in-person and remotely.
• North Carolina Driver’s License and ability to operate a vehicle.
• Ability to traverse uneven terrain and pass background/motor vehicle checks.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee development, planning, and design of transportation projects with NCDOT.
• Manage schedule, budget, and quality of preconstruction activities and deliverables.
• Coordinate with NCDOT, regulators, and consultants to ensure compliance and quality.
• Review and approve design documents, drawings, and specs.
• Foster relationships with NCDOT officials, local authorities, and stakeholders.
