Job summary

Battelle is seeking a Transportation Cybersecurity Specialist for a part-time, hybrid role in the DC Metro region. You will lead cybersecurity efforts for transportation systems, including CV/AV and CPS, collaborating with federal and industry partners to strengthen resilience across transportation infrastructure.

The role requires deep expertise in OT/ICS security, risk assessment, and advanced communication skills to briefing government sponsors and clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in cybersecurity or a related technical discipline.
• 10+ years of professional cybersecurity or transportation systems experience.
• Experience with cyber-physical systems (CPS) security and OT/ICS.
• Knowledge of connected vehicles, ITS, and transportation infrastructure security.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Ability to travel as required and work with diverse teams.
• US work authorization; no visa sponsorship at this time.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership on cyber-physical transportation security.
• Evaluate security architectures for CV/AV/CDA technologies.
• Develop cybersecurity strategies for OT and ICS in transportation.
• Assess AI-related cybersecurity implications in transportation.
• Conduct risk assessments, threat modeling, and vulnerability analyses.
• Support government and commercial clients with secure system design.
• Prepare technical reports, white papers, and guidance documents.
• Participate in cybersecurity exercises and incident response planning.
