LJA is seeking a Senior Cost Estimator to join its Transportation practice in Houston. You will develop, manage, and review construction cost estimates from early planning through procurement and construction, collaborating with engineers, PMs, and clients to identify costs, evaluate alternatives, assess risks, and support funding strategies.

You will develop takeoffs, price analyses, and escalation forecasts while preparing Basis of Estimate reports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Construction Management, Engineering Technology, or related field.
• 10+ years of transportation estimating experience with strong cost drivers knowledge.
• Proficiency with estimating software and advanced Excel; strong analytical and communication skills.

Responsabilités

• Develop quantity takeoffs, unit-price analyses, escalation forecasts, and opinions of probable construction cost.
• Evaluate plans and specs to identify cost drivers and risks.
• Analyze historical bid data, market conditions, labor trends, and material pricing.
• Prepare Basis of Estimate reports and supporting documentation.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary project teams and support client presentations.
• Assist project pursuits and client communications.
