Job summary

Quanta Infrastructure Solutions Group seeks an Engineering Project Manager for Transmission Line projects in Kansas. You will lead engineering efforts, collaborate with leadership, and guide project lifecycle from concept to closeout, including site visits and stakeholder coordination.

You will manage external providers, develop QA standards, and mentor engineering staff while driving safety and efficiency in project delivery. Strong leadership and technical expertise are essential.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in electric utility industry engineering or management for high voltage projects.
• BS or MS in Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
• P.E. license preferred.
• Proven track record leading multidisciplinary engineering teams and delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
• Strong technical expertise in structural, civil, or electrical engineering.
• Expert knowledge of electric utility engineering and construction standards.
• Knowledge of utility industry processes including scheduling, contracts, coordinating and managing all disciplines.
• Experience managing departmental budgets.
• Knowledge of project controls and estimates.
• Experience supporting external customers.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
• Ability to develop and execute strategic plans, drive innovation, and achieve business objectives.
• Knowledge of industry codes, standards, and regulations such as ANSI, ASTM, ACI, AISC, IEEE, NEC, NESC.
• Able to deal with ambiguity and work independently, manage multiple tasks and priorities.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineering and operational leadership on technical goals and oversee engineering work.
• Act as a technical lead through the conceptual, preliminary engineering, detailed design, construction, and closeout phases of the project lifecycle, including site visits.
• Manage performance of engineering service providers, including developing and reviewing KPIs with senior leadership.
• Develop and implement engineering controls and quality assurance standards.
• Ensure internal technical documentation and standards are upheld to meet company and customer requirements.
• Responsible for managing engineering staffing initiatives and planning for resource needs.
• Lead, mentor, and oversee training strategy for engineering staff.
• Support business development by participating in client meetings, proposal development, and project planning.
• Work with Quanta Engineering and Construction OpU’s to drive work.
• Drive innovation and efficiency in engineering processes and methodologies to enhance project delivery.
• Foster a culture of safety, quality, and integrity within the engineering department.
• Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and incorporate relevant innovations into project designs.
• Represent QISG in industry forums, conferences, and professional associations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
