Job summary

American Electric Power is seeking a Transmission Field Services Coord Sr to assist TFS management and field personnel in developing safe work methods, capital and maintenance plans, and cost estimates. The role focuses on coordinating cross-functional activities, implementing best practices, training, and IT system development to streamline reporting and data collection.

Extensive travel in assigned TFS areas is required.

Qualifications

• Requires relevant engineering-related degree or equivalent work experience.
• Experience in utility field operations including Transmission/Distribution is preferred.
• Strong understanding of project controls and scheduling practices.

Responsibilities

• Review for consistency, integrate and implement work practices across TFS Areas.
• Develop and coordinate capital/maintenance workplans within goals and project requirements.
• Participate in inter-region and inter-company meetings to standardize policies.
• Collaborate on new tools and equipment to maintain safety and productivity.
• Maintain TFS Area tool budget and assist with related training.
• Develop refresher training and new equipment training for TFS personnel.
• Improve data collection systems for assigned TFS Areas.
• Travel extensively to stay current with field issues.
• Oversee commissioning, maintenance and troubleshooting of Transmission and Distribution assets.
• Become SME on Station, P&C, Transmission Line or stormwater issues.
• Prepare cost estimates for non-routine work and projects.
• Lead coordination of rental equipment in TFS Areas.
• Contract administration including planning, procurement, and outages.
• Respond to support emergency work as needed.
