Job summary

The City of Charlotte's Charlotte Area Transit System is seeking a Senior Transit Procurement Supervisor to provide strategic leadership for procurement and contract administration, overseeing staff and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

You will direct complex solicitations, negotiate high‑value contracts, and drive cost savings while aligning with regulatory requirements across agency projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree and five years of related experience.
• Associate’s Degree with seven years of related experience or equivalent.
• Professional certification(s) (C.C.M., CLGPO, C.P.M, CPPB) strongly desired.
• Previous construction contracting/purchasing experience with a government entity highly desired.

Responsibilities

• Directs procurement planning, development, and execution of complex solicitations.
• Develops procurement strategies for major capital projects and ensures compliance.
• Negotiates settlements and guides contract compliance with project managers.
• Leads training and represents procurement in cross-department initiatives.
