Job summary

OCTA in Orange County is seeking a Transportation Analyst or Senior Transportation Analyst to support and manage traffic signal operations, ITS projects, and Transit Signal Priority. The role collaborates with local jurisdictions, Caltrans, and transit partners to advance streetcar coordination and modern signal technology.

The position emphasizes data-driven analysis, performance measurement, and complex project coordination while representing OCTA on technical groups.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Transportation Planning, Transportation Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to develop technical reports, performance measures, analyses, and recommendations.
Strong project coordination and organizational skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

Support and manage traffic signal operations and ITS projects, including Transit Signal Priority and advanced signal technologies.
Plan, design, implement, and evaluate traffic signal and ITS improvements and their integration with transit operations.
Support OC Streetcar coordination, TSP, and coordination with local jurisdictions and other partners.
Analyze traffic signal, transit, and transportation data to identify needs and evaluate performance.
Develop analyses, performance measures, reports, and recommendations to evaluate investments.
Coordinate with cities, Caltrans, regional agencies, transit operators, consultants, and technology providers.
Represent OCTA on technical committees, working groups, and public meetings.
