Job summary

MVA Services is seeking a Senior Transformer Technician for field service nationwide travel. You will assemble, vacuum fill, commission new transformers and perform repairs, degassing oil-filled units, and read blueprints/nameplates.

The role requires 5–7 years of hands-on transformer experience, ability to travel, and a commitment to safety. Expect 12-hour shifts, on-the-road schedule, with OT, holiday pay, and a competitive benefits package.

Job description

MVAhas an excellent opportunity for aSenior Transformer Technician.

We are seeking individuals with five to seven years experience in assembling, vacuum filling and commissioning new transformers, as well as transformer repairs, and degassing of oil filled transformers. The position will require travel to customer locations nationwide to perform service work.

Job Type: Full-time
Work Location: On the road

Schedule:

• 12 hour shift
• Three Week on, One Week off
• Over Time after 40, Double Time on Sunday and Triple Time for Holiday

Responsibilities include:

• Safety Compliance

• Transformer Installation and Repair

Qualifications:

• Strong Transformer Oil Processing and Vacuum Filling knowledge
• Transformer Assembly and Re-gasketing
• Ability to read blueprints and nameplate data
• Forklift, manlift and rigging certification
• A valid driver’s license and ability to travel

Additional Qualifications (Plus):

• 765 kV EHV work experience
• Electrical Testing including: Doble, SFRA, CT Testing, TTR and Insulation Resistance
• Knowledge of Load Tap Changer Repairs

License/Certification:

• Paid time off
