M&T Equipment Finance Corporation seeks a Senior Transformation Program Manager to lead technology transformation initiatives within the Transformation Office. You will partner with Product, Technology, and Business leadership, as well as external vendors, to define and implement future-state platforms.

You will lead cross-functional teams, build executive credibility, and drive value through aligned governance, data-driven decisions, and risk-managed delivery.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in business/technology transformation.
  • 7+ years in transformation programs, product or project management, or related roles.
  • Certification (PMP, SAFe, Agile or related).
  • Proven governance frameworks and methods delivering measurable outcomes.

Responsibilities

WhatYou’llDo: Lead the MTEFGTechnologyTransformationProgram

As aSenior Transformation Program Manager, you will sit within the MTEFG Transformation Office and drive thetechnology and platform transformation initiatives. Thisincludes,butisnotlimitedto:coresystem consolidation and upgrades,requirements,data,integrations, testing, and deployments. You willpartner closely with Product,Technology, and Businessleadershipalong withexternal vendors to define and implementthe future-state technology platforms.

You will:

  • Lead multi-disciplinary teamsthrough complex business transformation initiatives and high-impact strategic engagements.

  • Build credibility and trusted relationshipswith senior stakeholders and key partners across the organization to break down silos and enable collaboration.

  • Design, implement, and manageinitiatives in alignment with enterprise governance standards and practices.

  • Ensure technology solutions alignwith business objectives, regulatory requirements, scalability needs, and customer experience goals.

  • Lead with influence,serving as the trusted advisor to sponsors, project leaders, and stakeholders, driving alignment, clarity, and momentum.

  • Develop data-driven strategic recommendationsbyleveragingdeep knowledge of banking, customers, products, processes, technology, and organizational dynamics. Lead cross-functional teams with diverse perspectives to drive alignment and informed decision-making.

  • Navigate complexityby managing multiple efforts simultaneously, sequencing activities to mitigate riskand achieve target business outcomes.

  • Provide senior leadership with clear, actionable insights through comprehensive program performance reporting.

  • Drive execution certaintybyestablishing operating rhythm, setting pace, and ensuring disciplined delivery alongside senior leadersand strategic partners.

  • Measure what matters:Define clear outcomes, success metrics, and performance indicators to measure transformation success and value realization.

  • Ensure timely follow-throughon critical actions, decisions, risks, and issues through disciplined tracking, documentation, and escalation processes.

  • Develop and tailor communications,presentations, and other artifacts for audiences across the organization, ensuring clarity, quality, and engagement.

  • Demonstrate agilityby adapting quickly to new challenges, unfamiliar domains, and evolving priorities while fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.

  • Apply prioritizationand resourcing strategies to ensure effective deployment of talent and capabilities.

  • Elevate transformation delivery capabilitiesby mentoring team members, sharing best practices, and promoting continuous learning across the organization.

  • Champion the adoption of Transformation Delivery tools and best practices to ensure actions, risks, decisions, and issues areidentified, documented, managed, and escalated appropriately.

  • Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policiesand controls in accordance withthe Company’s Risk Appetite.

  • Design, implement, maintain and enhance internal controls to mitigate risk on an ongoing basis. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.

  • Promote an environment that supports belonging and reflects the M&T Bank brand.

  • Maintain M&T internal control standards, includingtimely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.

  • Complete other related duties as assigned.

What You Bring: Experience,Expertise, and Passion for Transformation

We’relooking for a seasonedTransformation Deliveryleader who combines strategic thinking with hands‑on experience in driving transformation across complex business environments. You’llthrive in this role if you bring:

  • A bachelor’s degreeand at least7 years of experiencein business and technologytransformation programs, product management, or project management. (Equivalent experience of 10 years, including 6 years in relevant roles, will also be considered.)

  • Proven expertiseapplying program governance frameworks, methodologies, and tools to deliver measurable outcomes in large-scale transformation programs.

  • A recognized certification (e.g., PMP, SAFe, Agile, or related certification).

  • A track record of leading enterprise-level, high-impact change initiativesin large organizations, with clear evidenceof driving business value.

  • Exceptional communication skillswith the ability to translate complex concepts into clear, compelling messages and influence stakeholders at all levels, including executive leadership.

  • A natural ability to adapt and lead through ambiguity, bringing clarity, confidenceand creativity to evolving situations and shifting priorities.

  • A mindset that embraces transformation as opportunity, with the resilience and flexibility to pivot, reframe challenges and guide others through uncertainty.

While not required, the following qualifications and experience will help you thrive and lead with even greater influence:

  • Experience coaching or developing talent, including mentoring junior practitioners or enabling non-experts to perform transformation activities confidently and successfully.

  • Experience collaborating with customer experience, UX, or human-centered design teams to create change strategies that are empathetic, user-informed, and adoption-ready.

  • Proficiency in collaboration and transparency tools such as Jira, Miro, Target Process, or Trello, tools that support agile ways of working and cross-functional alignment.

  • Exceptional problem-solving and strategic thinking skills, with a demonstrated ability to connect dots across systems, teams, and initiatives.

  • Industry experience in banking or financial services, including a strong understanding of the regulatory, operational, and organizational dynamics that influence transformation success.

  • Strong business acumen, with the ability to anticipate organizational challenges and design strategies that drive measurable outcomes.

  • Experience with people leadership responsibilities, including performance management, resource planning, recruitment, and mentoring, whether formally or through matrixed team structures.

M&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees. The pay range for this position is $118,200.00 - $197,000.00 Annual (USD). The successful candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, and experience will inform their specific compensation.
