Wilson & Company, Inc., Engineers & Architects in Phoenix, AZ, seeks a Senior Traffic Engineer to lead transportation planning and design projects for state and local agencies. The role focuses on multimodal analyses, traffic operations, MOT planning, and project leadership.

The ideal candidate will have licensure and PTOE/RSP preference, with a track record of delivering complex traffic projects, mentoring staff, and ensuring QA/QC across engagements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Arizona or ability to obtain licensure within three months.
• PTOE and/or RSP Levels 1 or 2 preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years in traffic engineering and design.

Responsibilities

• Lead/manage design for intersections, traffic signals, roadway lighting, signing, pavement marking, traffic management systems, and ITS systems.
• Develop MOT and sequencing plans.
• Assist with technical traffic analyses for highways, streets, and multimodal facilities.
• Assist with traffic safety analyses, including RSAs and design of countermeasures.
• Implement QA/QC procedures and assist in proposals and marketing strategies.
• Build and maintain client relationships and mentor junior staff.

Wilson & Company is seeking a full-time Senior Traffic Engineer to join our Arizona transportation planning and engineering team. This role will serve state and local agency clients and lead traffic design projects, safety evaluations, and multimodal facility analysis. The ideal candidate will have the opportunity to work on a variety of project types and sizes, including design-build.This role could be to serve as a local practice lead, commensurate to experience and skills.Roles & Responsibilities:Lead/manage design for intersections, traffic signals, roadway lighting, signing, pavement marking, traffic management systems, and ITS systems.Develop maintenance of traffic (MOT) and sequencing plans.Assist with technical traffic analyses for highways, streets, and multi-modal facilities.Assist with traffic safety analyses, including Road Safety Audits (RSAs), and identification and design of proposed safety countermeasures.Implement client and internal QA/QC proceduresAssist in developing proposals and marketing strategies.Build and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders.Mentor junior staff and foster a collaborative work environment.Please note that Wilson & Company is not currently sponsoring applicants for work visas.Salary Range: $100,000 - $140,000+, depending on experience.Required Experience:Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Arizona or ability to obtain licensure within three months.Certification as a Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) and/or a Road Safety Professional (RSP) Levels 1 or 2 is preferred.Minimum of 10 years in traffic engineering and design.Experience working with relevant industry standards and guidelines, such as MUTCD (Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices) and AASHTO (American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials) standards.Proficiency using CAD (MicroStation/AutoCAD), Geographic Information Systems (GIS), and/or traffic simulation software (e.g., Synchro, VISSIM),About Us:For nearly a century, Wilson & Company, Inc., Engineers & Architects, has provided award-winning engineering, architecture, planning, environmental, surveying, geospatial, and construction management services.
