Job summary

I & S Group, Inc. is seeking a Senior Traffic Engineer to lead traffic engineering projects based in Bloomington, MN. You'll work closely with project leaders to analyze traffic challenges, manage data collection, and design traffic systems. The role requires a minimum of 5 years in civil engineering, a Bachelor’s degree, and PE licensure. Senior Traffic Engineer

Department: Civil

Employment Type: Full Time

Location: Bloomington, MN

Compensation: $70,000 - $135,000 / year

Description

This position can be based in any ISG office location. In this role, you will work closely with Will Kratt, PE, PTOE, Transportation Business Unit Leader, and Barrett Hubbard, PE, PTOE, Transportation Engineer to lead traffic engineering projects serving state departments of transportation, city, and private sector clients. This includes evaluating travel demand management and how traffic challenges may be manageable through actions such as thoughtfully planned land use strategies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect traffic data, perform intersection evaluations, complete traffic and corridor studies, and conduct analyses using simulation and modeling software
  • Lead projects in traffic related design including traffic signal and roundabout plans, roadway lighting plans, signing and striping plans, construction staging and traffic control plans
  • Prepare preliminary and final designs and develop construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates
  • Build and strengthen client relationships by actively listening and understanding their goals, priorities, and expectations
  • Act as a technical resource within the organization, providing expertise and guidance on transportation projects
  • Serve as a mentor and leader for local internal ISGers that demonstrates a high degree of professionalism
  • Support additional initiatives and responsibilities as assigned to contribute to team and organizational success
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in civil engineering or related fields
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related discipline
  • PE licensed, required
  • PTOE certification, preferred
