Job summary

District Partners is seeking a Senior Trader in Investment Operations in Independence, MO to execute and reconcile trades, rebalance portfolios, and support portfolio managers and advisors. The role blends strategic oversight with hands-on trading and operations.

You will partner with senior traders and the Trading Team Manager on a range of tasks to meet short and long-term goals. The position requires a minimum 5 years of experience in trade desk operations and a solid background in portfolio

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in trade desk and securities operations.
• B.A. or B.S. degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
• Demonstrated knowledge of trade executions.
• Demonstrated proficiency with portfolio accounting and trading systems; Tamarac, FIX Flyer Co-Pilot.
• Experience with Salesforce, Excel, Word, SharePoint.
• Proficiency with Outlook, Word, Excel, Adobe.

Responsibilities

District Partners has been engaged by a renowned RIA firm to look for a Senior Trader in Investment Operations. This role will be responsible for trade execution, reconciliations, and trade support to advisors/portfolio managers and other operations team initiatives.

The role provides both strategic and tactical perspectives to ensure the Investment Operations team efficiently meets the trading needs of the firm. Relationship manager and primary point of contact to service providers whose applications serve critical functions to support the investment process needs of the entire firm. In addition, the Senior Trader partners with the other Senior Traders and the Trading Team Manager on a varied and diverse set of tasks for both short and long-term goals.

What You’ll be Owning:

• Execute, allocate, and reconcile trades in a timely manner
• Maintain and rebalance portfolios across different strategies
• Work with firm portfolio managers to implement model changes and manage cash needs for strategy accounts
• Support trading requests from advisors and portfolio managers
• Update and maintain reports daily, weekly, and monthly to monitor model and strategy accounts
• Liaise with operations team members to resolve any critical/complex problems related to specific trading transactions or processes
• Ensure trade workflow is operating with efficiency, quality, and accuracy
• Deal with complex issues utilizing appropriate channels and resources
• Support service requests ensuring compliance and risk mitigation practices are followed
• Identify, communicate, and monitor discrepancies and workflow issues between the custodian, trading platform, and accounting system.
• Under limited supervision, assumes autonomy and independent decision authority for administering moderately complex trading and operations tasks

What You’ll Bring to the Table:

• B.A. or B.S. degree, in Finance, Accounting, or related field
• Minimum 5 years of experience in trade desk and securities operations
• Demonstrated knowledge of trade executions
• Demonstrated proficiency with portfolio accounting and trading systems is preferred: Tamarac, FIX Flyer Co-Pilot
• Experience in general business applications: Salesforce, Excel, Word, SharePoint
• Demonstrated proficiency with general business applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, Adobe)
