Job summary

Community Hospice & Health Services is seeking a Senior Retail Clerk for the Hope Chest Thrift Stores in Modesto, CA. You will assist in daily store operations, process merchandise, stock shelves, and provide friendly customer service on the sales floor.

The role reports to the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager. A high school diploma and prior retail or customer service experience are preferred; a flexible schedule of 30-40 hours per week and occasional overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous customer service and/or retail experience.
• Good communication skills.
• Ability to work with little and/or no supervision.

Responsibilities

• Process merchandise by sorting, separating, cleaning, tagging, and pricing merchandise.
• Daily keep a constant flow of products moving to the sales floor.
• Provide exceptional customer service. Greet customers, walk the floor with a smile.
• Responsible for accepting donations. Follow donation guidelines and enforce store policies.
• Stock and display merchandise on the sales floor in a visually appealing manner.
• Operate cash register and follow proper cash handling.
