Job summary

Antora Energy in San Jose, CA, seeks a hands-on Test Technician to operate and maintain high‑temperature test platforms for Heat‑to‑Power development. The role includes unattended campaigns and close collaboration with engineers to generate usable datasets.

The candidate should have 5+ years of hardware experience, an engineering background, and strong troubleshooting, documentation, and safety discipline. Onsite work and AI-assisted reporting are expected.

Qualifications

• 5+ years hands-on experience operating and maintaining experimental or production hardware, test rigs, or complex equipment.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in engineering or technical field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Thermal, mechanical, electrical, or related background.
• Strong data quality and repeatability focus.
• Ability to troubleshoot independently.
• Safety awareness around high-temp systems.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, monitor, shut down, and disassemble high-temperature test campaigns, including unattended operation.
• Maintain and prepare test rigs and instrumentation (thermocouples, RTDs, pyrometers).
• Track consumables and spare parts; maintain records to avoid delays.
• Collect and deliver post-test datasets for design iteration and analysis.
• Troubleshoot sensors, thermal systems, and data acquisition; escalate when needed.
• Produce and update test procedures, logs, and safety docs.
• Communicate results clearly with engineers across disciplines.
• Operate complex experimental systems safely at high temperatures and power.
• Support improvements to increase reliability and usability.
