Responsibilities

Provide day-to-day leadership and support to a team of radiographers within their designated clinical area, ensuring the highest standards of technical practice, patient safety, and patient-centred care.
Be accountable for the safe and accurate delivery of radiotherapy treatments within their clinical area.
Deliver and support complex radiotherapy procedures, including localisation, image guidance, dose calculation, treatment verification, and treatment delivery.
Practice autonomously and professionally in accordance with departmental protocols, national guidance, and professional standards.
Ensure workload targets, quality standards, and service objectives are achieved through the effective use of available resources.
Contribute to service development, quality improvement initiatives, and the implementation of new techniques and technologies.
Support the education, supervision, and development of staff and students, fostering a positive learning environment.
Work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team to deliver holistic patient care and provide specialist advice, information, and support to patients, relatives, and carers throughout their treatment journey.

Job Overview

Join a progressive and innovative radiotherapy service at the Northern Centre for Cancer Care North Cumbria (NCCC-NS), Carlisle. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Therapeutic Radiographer to further develop their career within a department committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centred cancer care.

We are a forward-thinking service with a strong programme of innovation, including MRI-based planning and Surface Guided Radiotherapy (SGRT). As part of our continued development, we are preparing to introduce online adaptive radiotherapy, creating exciting opportunities for staff to develop advanced clinical skills and contribute to service transformation.

We are expanding our pre-treatment workforce and are seeking an enthusiastic individual to join our small, friendly, and supportive team. The successful candidate will play a key role in the preparation, simulation, planning imaging, and treatment verification processes for approximately 1,200 patients each year across adult cancer services.

Our department employs a wide range of advanced radiotherapy techniques, including VMAT, SABR, respiratory gating, and SGRT, supported by Siemens CT and MRI scanners and Varian TrueBeam linear accelerators.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated Band 6 Therapeutic Radiographer to join the Northern Centre for Cancer Care-North Cumbria in Carlisle. The Successful Candidate Will
