Job summary

VDart Inc. is seeking a Senior Tester with deep expertise in Mechatronics, Robotics, and Electromechanical Systems for a contract role in Sunnyvale, CA.

The ideal candidate will perform hands-on testing, debugging, and validation across mechanical, electrical, and embedded domains to ensure robust robotic solutions from concept through deployment. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design tests, interpret schematics, and document results.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, Electronics, or a related field.
• 5–6 years of experience in Mechatronics, Robotics, or Automation System Design and Testing.
• Experience with robotic platforms, subsystems, mobile robots, industrial robots, or custom robotic systems.
• Strong understanding of mechanical design and 3D CAD tools; electromechanical systems; motors, actuators, sensors, gear trains; embedded systems; PCB interaction and power distribution.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test electromechanical and robotic systems.
• Create and maintain engineering drawings, BOMs, and technical documentation.
• Prototype fabrication, assembly, integration, validation, and troubleshooting.
• Work with motors, actuators, sensors, gear trains, and structural components to optimize system performance.
• Coordinate with electrical, embedded software, and mechanical engineering teams for system integration.
• Support schematic review, PCB interaction, power distribution validation, and firmware interface testing.
• Execute system-level testing, identify defects, root cause analysis, and drive resolution.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders through development and testing lifecycle.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of testing methodologies and product quality.

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Tester with strong expertise in Mechatronics, Robotics, and Electromechanical Systems. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in mechanical design, prototype development, hardware integration, testing, and troubleshooting of robotic and automation systems. The candidate should be comfortable working across multidisciplinary teams and possess a strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and embedded systems. This role requires a practical, hands-on approach to building, testing, and validating robotic solutions from concept through deployment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test electromechanical and robotic systems.
• Create and maintain engineering drawings, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and technical documentation.
• Perform prototype fabrication, assembly, integration, validation, and troubleshooting activities.
• Work with motors, actuators, sensors, gear trains, and structural components to optimize system performance.
• Integrate sensors and communication systems into robotic platforms.
• Collaborate with electrical, embedded software, and mechanical engineering teams to ensure successful system integration.
• Support schematic review, PCB interaction, power distribution validation, and firmware interface testing.
