Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain the avionics electrical software test strategy, test plan, and verification cross‑reference matrix for a spaceflight component.
- Document test configurations, results, and test scripts.
- Derive electrical test requirements from system specifications, ICDs, schematics, and safety requirements.
- Coordinate cross‑functionally to define interface test requirements.
- Own test procedure development, review, and approval workflows from initial draft through qualification and acceptance.
- Lead bench‑level, vehicle‑level and pre‑launch electrical test campaigns including power‑on, functional verification, end‑to‑end harness continuity and EMI/EMC testing.
- Lead anomaly investigation and resolution for electrical test discrepancies; drive root‑cause analysis and corrective action through closure.
- Partner with manufacturing and production engineering early in the design cycle to ensure test infrastructures integrate seamlessly with production flow, tooling, and vehicle build sequence.
- Identify and drive test automation, instrumentation, and data acquisition infrastructure to reduce overall cycle time.
- Design electrical test and support equipment with production scalability in mind, ensuring test architectures support repeatable, high‑throughput execution across multiple vehicles.
- Design electrical test interfaces for producibility, including standardized GSE connectors, modular test racks, etc., to support rate increases without redesign.
- Drive a production mindset into the electrical test program; track unit‑to‑unit test time, first‑pass yield, anomaly rate, as indicators of production readiness.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field.
- Experience developing end‑to‑end testing of large, complex systems.
- 8+ years of experience in electrical test, avionics integration and test, or vehicle electrical systems verification.
- Demonstrated experience leading electrical test campaigns with flight hardware.
- Hands‑on experience with electrical test equipment including power supplies, oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal generators, data acquisition systems, etc.
- Hands‑on experience with RF test equipment such as signal generators, spectrum analyzers, attenuators, etc.
- Experience in specifying and building out electrical ground support equipment.
- Experience developing and executing test procedures from system‑level specification and ICDs.
- Proven ability to lead technical teams and coordinate across disciplines under schedule pressure.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in electrical engineering or related field.
- Experience with launch vehicles, spacecraft, or other highly integrated electrical systems.
- Background in electrical test planning.
- Experience integrating with GPS/GNSS simulators and assessing RF link performance in a test environment.
- Experience with automated test framework and scripting for electrical test sequencing and data collection.
- Experience scaling an electrical test program from development to production.
- Background in Design for Testability (DFT) principles and participated in design reviews as a test team representative.
- Previous lead or management experience in a test or integration organization.
