Job summary

The Charles Stark Draper Laboratory, Inc. in Cambridge, MA is seeking a Senior Test Equipment Development Engineer to lead full lifecycle development of complex electrical, mechanical, and software-based test equipment within multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

  • Requires a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Applied Physics, or related field.
  • Requires 5-7 years in Systems Engineering or relevant role.

Job Description Summary:

The Strategic Systems Engineering Test Equipment group at Draper is seeking a Senior Test Equipment Development Engineer to work within multidisciplinary teams to develop and provide full system lifecycle development and management of complex electrical, mechanical and software-based test equipment. System Integration and Test (I&T) Engineer will serve as a lead system integrator for technologies and product lines developed using Draper's core capabilities. In this role they design, develop and manage I&T activities starting from early test concept development through system certification. System I&T Engineers leverage multi-disciplinary engineering expertise and collaborate with other Systems Engineers to establish clear, verifiable, and traceable requirements, inform and drive system concepts, architectures, and designs to promote testability, and utilizes resident expertise and lessons learned to support the development of highly reliable, robust, and complex systems.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Able to take ownership of assignments and guide others as needed; successfully lead tasks while tracking priorities, scope, cost and schedule.
  • Derive plans, approaches, procedures for solving complex I&T problems across a program lifecycle, capturing all assumptions and adapting appropriately to changes in requirements with limited direction.
  • Independently contribute high quality content for technical reports and presentations which shows an understanding of their task and an awareness of the intended audience.
  • Demonstrate confidence and success when presenting technical information during meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Identify program/system-level technical risks and develop and execute mitigation strategies.
  • Mentor less experienced engineers and provide thoughtful, constructive feedback.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $82,300.00 - $220,000.00. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Union ranges will be in compliance with the collective bargaining agreement's approved rates by location and role.
