Job summary

RSI in Oak Ridge, TN is seeking a Senior Test/Operations Engineer to oversee testing, commissioning, and readiness of complex regulated facilities. You will serve as SME for mechanical, piping, glovebox, HVAC, and electrical systems, ensuring NRC CFR compliance and contractor program effectiveness.

The role requires extensive engineering or nuclear operations experience (10+ years preferred), with supervisory exposure at a DOE/NRC facility or equivalent licensure.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Engineering or equivalent; PE license or NRC SRO may be considered.
• PE license or NRC SRO certification or 10+ years of engineering or nuclear operations experience; includes 2+ years in supervision at a DOE/NRC facility.
• 10 years of engineering or nuclear operations experience, preferably as test/systems/operations engineer; DOE/NRC facility leadership experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as SME in testing of mechanical, piping/process, gloveboxes, electrical, compressed air, and HVAC systems.
• Lead commissioning and readiness of nuclear facilities, including NRC CFR requirements.
• Review contractor testing programs, documentation, and records for quality and technical accuracy.
• Provide guidance on chemical processes, mechanical, electrical, and process systems; oversee testing issues.
• Plan assessments, review progress, and recommend process improvements.
• Interact with contractors and oversee activities during normal and off-hours as required.
• Ensure work meets regulatory requirements, quality standards, and procedures.
• Produce high-quality written assessment reports with minimal revisions.
