Job summary

Berkshire Hathaway GUARD Insurance Companies is seeking a proactive Territory Manager to lead the Massachusetts field presence, develop agency partnerships, and expand the commercial P&C book. You will travel to meet agency partners, drive submission activity, and align with underwriting guidelines to grow written premium.

The role requires 4–7+ years in territory management or field underwriting, strong data skills, and excellent communication with external partners.

Qualifications

• 4-7+ years’ territory management or field underwriting experience.
• Experience growing a book of business through agency relationships.
• Knowledge of commercial P&C (Workers’ Comp, BOP, Auto, Umbrella).
• Familiarity with the Massachusetts market and agency environment.
• Experience using data and metrics to inform decisions.
• Clear and effective communication with agency partners and internal teams.
• Strong organizational skills and independent problem-solving in complex situations.

Responsibilities

• Own and manage the Massachusetts territory by developing agency relationships and growing commercial P&C business.

• Use data (agency performance, market trends, competitor activity) to determine where to focus time and effort.
• Follow a consistent sales process, tracking activity, pipeline, and results.

Salary Range

$105,000-$130,000 USD + performance-based bonus potential and use of a company car

In accordance with applicable pay transparency laws, this range represents a good-faith estimate. Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience, credentials, geographic location, and other considerations permitted by law.
