Job summary

Ledcor Technical Services is seeking an experienced Telecommunications Construction Superintendent to lead field teams across North America. You will ensure adherence to plans, specifications, and codes while guiding safety programs and project delivery from field sites.

The role requires strong leadership, planning, and communication skills, with travel to project sites as needed. A background in construction or engineering is preferred, with extensive experience in telecommunications

Responsibilities

• Ensure projects meet approved plans, specifications, and building codes.
• Lead development of Project Quality Plans and Safety Programs; oversee incident investigations.
• Review and update construction schedules; address delays and contribute to project timelines.
• Estimate activity durations and materials for complex projects.
• Track and report financial aspects of the project.
• Participate in subcontractor selection, procurement and negotiations.
• Set priorities and allocate resources for the entire field team.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to project staff and superintendents.

Essential Responsibilities

• Will ensure projects meet approved plans, specifications, and building codes
• Leads the development of Project Quality Plans and Safety Programs, and oversees incident investigations
• Reviews and updates construction schedules, addresses delays, and contributes to project schedules
• Estimates activity durations and materials for complex projects
• Working knowledge of reporting and tracking of financial aspects of the project
• Participates in subcontractor, supplier selection, procurement and negotiations
• Will set priorities and allocate resources as needed for the entire field team
• Provides leadership and mentorship to project staff and Superintendents

Qualifications

• 8 plus years of experience in as a Telecommunications construction Superintendent
• Knowledge of Aerial and underground fiber installation using boring and plow equipment
• Post-secondary education in Construction, Engineering, or a related discipline is an asset
• Effective Communication and leadership skills
• Ability to directly supervise craft employees as well as sub-contractors
• Problem-solving abilities and the capacity to anticipate and address issues
• Comprehensive knowledge of construction documents, drawings, specifications, and current construction practices
• Strong organizational and planning skills

Working Conditions

• Able to meet the physical requirements of the position which involves sitting, standing, bending, climbing, lifting (up to 50 pounds), working at heights, and in all types of weather conditions (rain, snow, heat etc.)
• This is a site-based position that will require travel to various Ledcor offices and project sites
