Job summary

AlphaGov is seeking an experienced Senior Tekla Detailer to lead structural steel modeling and detailing from design through fabrication and field erection. The role requires extensive Tekla Structures expertise within a structural steel fabrication environment.

The Senior Detailer will oversee model and drawing quality, detailing standards, workflow improvements, and the technical development of other detailers.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in structural steel detailing with advanced Tekla Structures.
• Structural steel fabrication experience required.
• Experience developing or improving Tekla standards, templates, workflows.
• Experience leading, mentoring, training, or supervising detailers.
• Strong ability to read structural drawings and engineering documents.
• Excellent project coordination and communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with fabrication-ready documentation.

Responsibilities

• Develop and review Tekla models, shop drawings, and fabrication packages.
• Set and improve Tekla standards, templates, workflows.
• Lead and mentor structural steel detailers.
• Perform QC to ensure accuracy and fabrication readiness.
• Coordinate with engineers, PMs, estimators, fabrication, and production.
• Review drawings for accuracy, completeness, constructability.
• Resolve RFIs and revisions with field teams.
• Identify opportunities to improve Tekla workflows and drawings.
• Assist with workload planning and scheduling to meet deadlines.
• Collaborate to reflect project requirements in models.
• Lead continuous improvement for quality and productivity.
