Job summary

Perk is seeking a Senior IT Support Specialist to be the go-to IT resource across our fast-moving startup. You’ll handle day-to-day IT needs, with emphasis on Mac support, hardware lifecycle management, and local IT logistics. You’ll drive procurement and improve setups and processes at the Chicago hub.

You’ll thrive in execution mode, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to AI-related IT improvements while supporting a hybrid work environment.

Responsibilities

• Serve as first line of IT support for employees across hubs, with focus on Mac issues.

The Role

We are looking for an ambitious, motivated and knowledgeable TechOps Specialist to help build a world‑class IT experience at Perk.

In this role you will be an instrumental part of every aspect of IT at Perk. You will be responsible for everything from helping users day‑to‑day to delivering big projects that alter the course of the company.

You will need to be smart, pragmatic, comfortable with ambiguity and people‑focused. You should have a background in something technical and love learning how things work in IT. The more experience the better!

What you’ll do

As an Senior IT Support Specialist, you’ll play a hands‑on role in supporting our fast‑moving, AI‑focused startup. You’ll be the go‑to person for day‑to‑day IT needs, especially those related to Mac support, hardware lifecycle management, and office IT logistics. You’ll be expected to manage procurement for the local site and proactively improve existing setups and processes on instinct. This is a role for someone who thrives in execution mode and enjoys solving problems quickly and efficiently. Your responsibilities will include:

• IT Support: Serve as a first line of defense for employee IT issues, collaborate and resolve issues across all hubs and display a deep focus on macOS troubleshooting, application support, and network connectivity.




• Hardware Management: Own the full device lifecycle including procurement, deployment, inventory tracking, loaner pool oversight, and device re‑provisioning for offboarded users.




• Accessory & AV Oversight: Manage inventory of peripherals and maintain conference room AV systems to ensure smooth daily operations alongside our existing AV team.




• IT Onboarding: Assist with laptop and macbook onboardings as users work through zero touch deployment




• Proactive Planning: Monitor hardware aging and coordinate refresh cycles to stay ahead of team needs. Factor in time to improve solutions and processes at your local hub and instinctively begin working on them immediately




• IT Logistics: Support software installs, device shipments, office moves, and other day‑to‑day IT coordination needs.

What you’ll bring

• Experience: 5+ years in IT support or systems administration, with strong MacOS experience in a fast‑paced or startup environment.




• Objectively show you have administrated core tooling at your current role not only had it provisioned for you to maintain.




• Technical Proficiency: Comfort with endpoint management tools, MDM systems (e.g., Jamf, Kandji and/or Intune), and troubleshooting across Mac/Windows hardware/software.




• Organization: Highly organized with a systems-oriented mindset, able to track devices and inventory across multiple offices, beneficial if hands‑on experience with Oomnitza.




• Execution Focused: Bias for action and ability to troubleshoot, solve problems, and follow through independently.




• Communication: Friendly, clear communicator who can help teammates quickly and patiently,whether they’re in‑office or remote.




• Active contributor to our AI related improvement planning and can display delivery of impact over effort

• Experience supporting hybrid teams or distributed environments.




• Familiarity with AV equipment and tools like Zoom Rooms, Logitech or Polycom setups.




• Experience with light software development or API integrations to enhance fleet administration and tooling (IT workflows)
