Job summary

Gresham Smith is seeking a Senior Technology Systems Designer for Building Engineering (Finance) to collaborate with owners, clients, and architects on technology, audiovisual, and security requirements. You will develop contract documents and provide redlines and reviews to ensure design integrity.

Ideal candidates bring 8+ years of REVIT experience, familiarity with AutoCAD, and strong MS Office and PDF-tool skills.

Qualifications

High school diploma required; an Associate's degree in Applied Science, Electronics, Electrical Engineering Technology, Drafting/Design, or a related field is preferred.
At least 8 years of experience designing technology systems using REVIT; additional relevant experience is a plus.
Professional certifications such as RCDD, CTS, and PSP are desirable but not mandatory.
Proven experience in creating detailed designs using REVIT; proficiency with AutoCAD is also advantageous.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word and Excel.
Familiarity with PDF software such as Bluebeam or equivalent programs.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with owners, clients, architects, and multidisciplinary teams to define technology, AV, and security requirements and ensure seamless project coordination.
Develop and maintain contract documents—inlcuding drawings, diagrams, plans, and details—in line with Gresham Smith's design standards.
Provide clear redlines, quality control reviews, and feedback on equipment lists and shop drawings to ensure accuracy and adherence to design intent.
Conduct research on codes, standards, equipment, and construction methods to inform design and scope development.
Prepare narrative documents, addenda, ASIs, CCDs, and other construction phase submissions as part of project management and communication.
Participate in meetings, resolve design challenges collaboratively, and assist Project Managers with oversight and resource management.
Mentor junior designers, supporting their professional growth with an eye toward future leadership roles.

About You
