Arkansas Children’s Hospital is seeking a Senior MRI Technologist to perform high-quality MRI exams safely and efficiently, potentially serving as a preceptor and lead in the MRI team. The role emphasizes patient care, protocol accuracy, and adherence to safety standards.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college program or technical school or nursing diploma
• Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university (recommended)
• Direct - 6 years of experience (required)
• Direct - Pediatric (recommended)
• 1 of the following license or registry is required (required certifications)
• ARRT – MRI Specialist (recommended certification)
• MRI Technician Certification (recommended)

Responsibilities

• Is an expert MRI Technologist and may serve as a Preceptor in the skills to perform diagnostic scans as directed by Radiologists.
• Is an expert, and may serve as a Preceptor, in the utilization of correct scan protocols while optimizing image quality, decreasing scan length and repeat procedures. Demonstrates knowledge of patient positioning and coil selection.
• May serve as a Preceptor to properly screen patients, families, and staff with attention to pregnancy and MRI contraindications.
• May serve as a Preceptor in adhering to all safety recommendations regarding MRI.
• Ensures that work area is properly maintained.
• May serve as a Preceptor in troubleshooting and reporting malfunctioning equipment.
• Assists with service recovery, ensuring proactive communication with patients and families.
• Participates in performance improvement activities.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Complies with all TJC, state, federal, and local regulatory laws, standards, and protocols.

Required Education
