Job summary

The Senior Technician, General Facilities Maintenance at Walmart provides preventive maintenance and repairs to ensure safe, functional facilities. You will diagnose issues, oversee junior technicians, manage work orders, and ensure OSHA/EPA compliance while supporting continuous improvement.

The Facilities Services team handles HVAC, refrigeration, electrical and building systems to keep stores running smoothly.

Qualifications

• Vocational or Technical certification and 5 years’ experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related trades.
• 7 years’ experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related trades.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Eligible for a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
• 1 year’s experience with Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure safety, functionality, and appearance of facilities equipment and fixtures.
• Inspect, clean, and repair equipment, documenting wear and recommending repairs or replacements.
• Conduct major and minor repairs using plumbing, electrical, and carpentry skills.
• Oversee junior associates and act as job foreman on assigned sites.

The Facilities Services team ensures safe and efficient store operations by managing HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, and building systems. Senior Technicians independently diagnose and resolve complex issues, maintaining continuous service. What you’ll do:

What you’ll bring:

• Proven experience performing preventive maintenance and equipment repair to ensure facility safety and functionality.
• Strong knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations and compliance standards.
• Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry issues using blueprints and repair manuals.
• Skilled in managing maintenance schedules, work orders, parts inventory, and contractor oversight.
• Demonstrated leadership in supervising and training junior technicians to meet quality and safety requirements.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills to build partnerships and support business objectives.
• Commitment to continuous improvement and adherence to company policies and ethical standards.

  The hourly wage range for this position is $21.00 - $40.00* *The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.
