Walmart in Riverhead, NY is seeking a Senior Technician in Facility Services for HVAC and refrigeration duties. This full-time role supports and maintains Walmart Refrigeration HVAC systems across the store, using hand and power tools to complete service tasks.
You will manage work orders, respond to emergencies, inspect equipment, and ensure OSHA/EPA compliance. This position requires significant experience and EPA certification; there is a competitive hourly wage range and comprehensive

- 10 years’ experience in commercial Refrigeration HVAC maintenance.
- Type I/Type II or Universal EPA Certification for Refrigerant handling.
- Valid state-issued driver’s license with a clean driving record and the ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Report (MVR).
- 18 years or older with a High School Diploma or equivalent.

- Maintain and repair Walmart facility's Refrigeration HVAC equipment using hand, digital, and power tools.
- Use the work order management system to receive repair Work Orders and document repair activities.
- Provide prompt response to emergency maintenance calls.

The hourly wage range for this position is $42.00 - $84.00* *The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.

Outlined below are the required minimum qualifications for this position. If none are listed, there are no minimum qualifications.
Option 1: 3 years’ experience in HVAC/grocery rack refrigeration.Option 2: 6 years’ experience in HVAC/grocery rack refrigeration and Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration.
Hold and maintain Type I and Type II or Universal Environmental Protection Agency certification for refrigerant handling.
Where required, HVAC-R/ Mechanical Journeyman.
1 year’s experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area or 2 years’ Walmart store experience.
Valid state‑issued driver’s license and ability to pass a motor vehicle report.
Commercial driving record with no convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI within the last five (5) years.
Commercial driving record with no more than two (2) moving violations in the last three (3) years.
No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
No serious traffic violations, as defined by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
